Every Life Matters Equally

The New England of Medicine article, December 16th edition, Ms. Omega One, by MaryAnn Wilbur, M.D., M.P.H., M.H.S., describes the unnoticed death of a young black woman from gun violence in our country. But, because of her skin color, and the circumstances of her death, “her death was not deemed newsworthy”. The author goes on to lament, “until we decide that the death of (this woman) is as great a loss as every other death in the United States, we will not become the society that we wish to be”.
