With the ongoing impeachment process
awaiting the Senate’s receipt of the Articles from the House, and the continuing release of more pertinent information to the public by the press, the opportunity exists to review additional salient, and clarifying points.
There is a universal consensus of opinion
within the medical community that our president is a malignant narcissist, and that he represents a clear danger to our country because of the magnitude of his disorder. Malignant narcissists by their very nature are autocrats, and would be expected to concentrate power to themselves, and dismantle systems of law and governance not meeting their needs.
The public is mostly unaware of, or does not fully appreciate the gravity of his diagnosis much of this due to the “Goldwater Rule”.
The rule took effect almost one half century ago, when the APA( American Psychiatric Association) essentially instituted a gag order on all physicians disallowing them from publicly commenting on the psychiatric diagnoses of public officials they had not directly interviewed.
The case stemmed from a settlement of one million dollars paid to the Senator by the APA for public comments made by a group of psychiatrists/psychologists questioning the psychiatric health of the then Republican candidate in the 1964 Presidential election. The APA appropriately stated that such behavior was not ethical. As a result medical professionals could no longer provide any valuable input to the public regarding a president’s psychiatric and emotional health. That had not been an issue with any other Presidential candidate until Trump. Unfortunately our medical community stayed mostly silent.
Perhaps John Bolton’s testimony, the president’s continuous outlandish behavior, and actions, as well as the fallout of the Soleimani assassination will finally convince Americans of the gravity of our situation, and accept that this malignant narcissist is not fit to be our Commander in Chief.
Too bad we were so poorly informed!
Malignant(=bad) narcissists:
narcissists but worse because as toxic as they can be, they may also exhibit other dysfunctional behavior:
1. Paranoia- feelings that others are against them.
2. Prominent antisocial or sociopathic behavior
3. Sadistic tendencies, such as inflicting severe pain on others.
Narcissistic individuals as many already know, are “all about themselves”.
Their biggest fear is to be embarrassed, shamed, exposed as a failure, or a fraud.
Since they do not appreciate their condition they continue to behave in the same way.
-They are extremely self-centered, and selfish
-Consider themselves more special than anyone, and should only have to relate to others like themselves.
-Possess an overwhelming sense of entitlement and grandiosity.
-Must be admired, and exaggerate their accomplishments in order to maintain an impressive public image.
-Do not want anybody to get in their way, and don’t need to play by the rules because they are “above them”.
-Are prone to addictive behaviors such as sexual and overwork
There are 10 personality disorders divided into 3 categories: odd, dramatic, anxious.
Narcissists are in the dramatic category.
It is a fascinating group of disorders, because it teaches us that normal human personality traits in excess can be pathologic.
Logically any person burdened, and thereby limited by such an extreme disorder of their personality would be dangerous as the most powerful person in the world.
The experts have testified that the president is guilty of impeachable acts according to the Constitution of the United States.
Irrespective of political party, for all these reasons and many others, he must go!
