Doctor Fauci

I presented a case of Wegener’s granulomatosis to you at grand rounds 36 years ago at University of Connecticut Health Center. You were legendary even then, being the world’s expert on vasculitis at that time. But, you were great, so humble and so committed. Is it true you brought your own bed into the hospital during some period of your training, and lived in the hospital?
I must finally apologize to you for taking too long to present the case. I really prepared extra special for that one. I want to thank you again for that pivotal moment in my life. Thank goodness you are here to help again in these difficult times.

Let me be one of the first to wish you a very happy 80th birthday come December 24th of this year! You really appear quite youthful, and vibrant. From all of us in the profession, and I am sure most Americans, here’s to many many more!

Anthony, from one MD to another, the American people must hear from you directly as to your role and that of the CDC regarding the Corona virus pandemic. Apparently the President was told by his trusted source(s) as early as January 3rd of the potential devastating economic effects of the virus. What did the medical models predict and when was the President informed? How long did it take him to grasp the urgency, and other than appropriately closing the border to Chinese visitors in early February what other actions of value did he take?

All physicians know “it’s all about the history”, and it must be presented with all the pertinent details. The truth is lawyers as well as politicians just have too make it look good, but doctors need to find the truth. But, in these instances if the case is presented too slowly and takes too long to present, the message is lost by the listeners, and too often taken advantage of by others.

To my most esteemed colleague, the respect of the Medical profession is in your hands.
It is the duty of the Medical profession to act in the common good, even at our own peril.

Again, happy birthday, and all the best to you and your family from all of us!
